Wolverine Up!
Dear Dreamers and Dream Makers,
Here we come! Busting out of Detroit City into the Big House where we dream big and go big! Wolverine Up! As our 2019 Michigan Youth Impact Program went BIG last night at Cass Tech High School in Detroit with 119 young at-risk youth were drafted into our upcoming program later this month hosted by the University of Michigan.
Leading our BIG Team YIP is former Michigan Player and YIP Student-Athlete from our first program that began in 2015, Chris Bryant. Chris along with our 4 Detroit Public School Teachers, our Marines, the University of Michigan staff, and Football Student-Athletes, have created a competitive setting for academic learning, leadership, and the skills to win over the past 4 years. We have ignited the young hearts with access and trust in the institution with a world-renowned academic institution that is the University of Michigan. We have had four of our Michigan YIP youth participants receive full scholarships to the University of Michigan, we have seen 8 NFL draft picks and 3 first-rounders that were role models and participated as YIP student-athletes. We have accumulative over the four years of average for each young youth: 30% increase in Math, 45% increase in English and 50% increase in Science. We are creating leaders for Detroit!
We were honored to have one of Detroit’s own, former quarterback Devon Gardner #98 join us in the Michigan Draft Night as the program is the community, by the community, and for the community.
We continue to make this program better, innovative, and streamlined to bring the love of school, love of competition, love of respect, and most of all, love of trust for our youth in Detroit.
