Our Maryland Role Models, Mentors, & Heroes Begin Their Season!

College football is upon us! The season kicks off with a prime time game, with our Dream Makers leading the Terps for Maryland and Coach DJ Durkin’s first game. Our YIP young boys from the Baltimore, PG County, and D.C. area have been invited to the first football game by the University of Maryland this Saturday Sept 3, Maryland vs. Howard. Our U.S. Marine Corps that participated as role models, mentors, and heroes will be providing the color guard during the national anthem for this game.

From the The Associated Press, coach DJ Durkin insists last year’s numbers won’t influence his selection of the team’s starting quarterback. “Absolutely clean slate,” Durkin said. “It’s totally different how they’re being coached right now, it’s a totally different the scheme they’re in, it’s a totally different mindset. We’re not going to judge them or form an opinion on what they’ve done in the past.” We are extremely proud to be part of the Maryland Football and excited about our 16 YIP Student Athlete Mentors.
