This Giving Tuesday
This Giving Tuesday, Hawaii YIP was very excited to have Leidos join our team of givers to help make Big Dreams come true. Founder and Chairman, Riki Ellison joined Hawaii YIP Director, Siegfried “Ziggy” Ramil and Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi in accepting a generous donation from CEO of Leidos, Tom Bell. Also present for this presentation was Lena Conrad (YIP community outreach), Siufofoga Fale (YIP parent and community leader), Sharon Brown (Hawaii YIP Champion), Bryan Silver (DOE teacher of the year) and many Leidos representatives.
Lena and Fale gave emotional dedications to the impact that this program has on our local communities, reaching families in some of the most challenging neighborhoods on island. “This program provides unmatched mentorship, coaching, and leadership for our kids and they are excited to return each year” says Fale. It was clear to all why local Leidos employee Kate McIlvaine nominated Youth Impact Program Hawaii for this donation, and the passion, enthusiasm, and impact was felt by all.
Leidos, a Fortune 500 company specializing leveraging technology to make the world safer, healthier, and more efficient, has over 400 employees living and working on Oahu. They join our other dream makers- First Hawaiian Bank, Roberts Hawaii, Roy Yamaguchi, and many other local donors and restaurants- in sustaining a program that is beloved by the community and gives young men and women of Oahu the tools to dream big.
